Montclair State University is located on Valley Rd. and Normal Ave. in Montclair, NJ. The University's main entrance is on Normal Avenue.
Below you will find directions to the Kasser Theater from all points by car and by public transportation. If you are utilizing GPS to visit us, please use the following information when entering directions into your GPS: Enter 22 Normal Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07043. This will take you to the entrance of the campus. Turn right off of Normal Ave. on to campus, the Kasser Theater and Red Hawk parking deck will be directly in front of you.
Take Garden State Parkway to Route 46 West (exit 154). Exit onto Valley Road (South) toward Montclair.*
Take Garden State Parkway to Route 3 West (exit 153B). Exit onto Valley Road (South) toward Montclair.*
Take Lincoln Tunnel to Route 3 West for approximately 10.5 miles. Route 3 will merge to Route 46—stay right. Take first exit immediately after the merge, onto Valley Road (South), toward Montclair.*
Take the George Washington Bridge to Route 80 West. Take Exit 62 to merge onto the Garden State Parkway South. Take Exit 154 for Route 46 toward Clifton. Exit onto Valley Road toward Paterson/Montclair. Make a right and prepare to make an immediate left onto Valley Road (south).*
*Once on Valley Road (south) – Stay on Valley Road for one mile to the first traffic light. Turn right onto Normal Avenue. Then make another right into the main entrance of the campus. The Alexander Kasser Theater will be directly in front of you. Convenient parking is available at the Red Hawk Parking Deck adjacent to the theater.

Special charter bus service for the world premiere of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company's Analogy/Dora: Tramontane! The DeCamp charter bus will depart from New York Live Arts, 219 West 19th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues), at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, and at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 21. The lobby and bar at New York Live Arts will be open on Saturday, June 20, at 5:30 p.m. The roundtrip bus fee is $10 per person and can be purchased online when purchasing tickets for the performance or by calling the box office at 973-655-5112. Subject to availability.
For other events: Charter bus service is provided for the fee of $10 per person (roundtrip) from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to the Alexander Kasser Theater for all Saturday and Sunday professional performances. The De Camp charter bus can be found outside the Port Authority Terminal on the 41st Street "arcade" (covered street) between 8th and 9th Avenues (see map below). Please purchase bus tickets online when buying show seats, or call the box office at 973-655-5112. Bus departs 90 minutes prior to curtain.
Please be advised that charter bus service is not provided for MSU Theatre and Dance Department or John J. Cali School of Music productions. Also, be sure to reserve your bus seats at the time of purchasing your performance tickets. Seating on day-of-show cannot be guaranteed due to availability.
Weekdays: NJ Transit Railroad is the recommended method of public transportation. The Montclair Heights Station is the nearest stop and is a five-minute walk from the Alexander Kasser Theater. Travel time from New York Penn Station to Montclair Heights is approximately 45 minutes. Ushers will greet the last train that arrives prior to curtain and escort patrons to the theater. For all events, convenient and easy-to-use parking vouchers are available for sale in the lobby of the Alexander Kasser Theater starting one hour before each performance, and during intermission. For events without intermissions, vouchers will be available for sale after the performance as well.

Certain productions presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance may take place at different venues on campus. If you are purchasing tickets for a Memorial Auditorium or Fox Theatre event, please remember to pick up your tickets at the Alexander Kasser Theater Box Office before proceeding to either venue. Concessions at the Alexander Kasser Theater is open one hour prior to curtain and during intermission for all performances. Café Diem and the Red Hawk Diner are conveniently located on campus within walking distance of the Alexander Kasser Theater and are open 24/7.
